| Construction |
The 'Hydra' is a carvel planked round bilge ex Navy 40 foot workboat. The vessel was built by General Motors in Melbourne and launched in 1945. The vessel was subject to a major rebuild in 1974/76 at Williamtown Victoria where the new deck and different style of cabin fitted. Prior to purchase by the client the vessel has worked as a line vessel in Victoria. Since purchase the client has carried out a cosmetic upgrade on the vessel. The vessel displayed a HIN No AU-WWA142596HT6. |
| Material |
Carvel planked with conventional 140mm x 55mm stringers, 3 per side and 60mm x 40mm laminated timber ribs at 195mm centres. The deck is fitted with 125mm x 60mm deck beams at 350mm centres. |

| Engines |
Detroit 6-71 diesel engine, model No HN9 with N70 injectors fitted(advised). The engine develops 225HP at 2,100RPM and is coupled to a Alison MH37R gearbox, serial no 44051, which in turn is coupled to a 63.5mm diameter stainless steel propeller shaft fitted with a fixed stern gland. |

2 x 12 volt batteries, in boxes port aft engine room, 12 volt DC wiring requires tidying up adjacent to batteries. |

| Steering |
The vessel is fitted with single ram, single station hydraulic steering with belt driven pump off main engine, all operable and secure and emergency tiller able to be fitted if required. |
| Tanks |
The vessel is fitted with two newer stainless steel fuel tanks port and starboard side aft of engine room with fillers to deck and vents on cabin side. Both tanks appeared secure and in good condition, exact capacity unknown.
1 x fresh water tank forward engine room, tank secure and appeared in good condition.
1 x small hydraulic oil tank starboard side engine room. The main engine is still fitted with a small belt driven hydraulic pump, but hydraulics previously used for deck services inoperable.

1 x Admiralty pattern anchor.
1 x CQR anchor with chain pendant and anchor rope.
Aqua Signal approved navigation lights, operable.
1 x searchlight.
